The clans of Culberron have long been engaged in a bloody civil war. How did it start and who was in the right? The answers to these questions can no longer justify the fighting. All sides have perpetrated, and been the victim of, countless atrocities. This year’s harvest was all but destroyed in the fighting, and now winter has arrived. The leaders of Culberron’s great clans have agreed to gather for a moot at the ancient stone table. Can they set aside old and new hatreds to forge a peace before the nation starves or falls to an outside threat?
Dying Kingdoms Table Top Game. $10 to PC. Holiday Party will follow, after TT session. Holiday Party details and gift exchange info to be posted in the future.
Here are extremely brief, unofficial breakdowns on the tabletops for the January event. Most table ST will (or have) posted more detailed blurbs on the DK Facebook page. If you’re interested in a table, please let the Story Team and the specific ST know in some fashion, so we can reserve you a spot and incorporate some personal plot for you into the story.
STs with room at their tables —
(1) Joel – Why go back to Aswahi? The PCs were just there and surely didn’t leave it a bigger mess than they found… oh, wait, I see your point.
(2) Laura – Krakenpalooza 2.0!
(3) Adrianne – Ever wanted to go to Hachikura? Now’s your chance!
(4) Kari – Let’s visit Circadia, because nobody’s heard from them in a while and I’m sure everything is super fine there.
(5) Bob – Piccazi has some problems with some dead people, mostly relating to their unwillingness to quietly stay that way.
(6) Nox – Verrakin capers in which much fun and revelry was had by all and no one lost their wallet… or their life.
(7) Ed – Speaking of bloodshed, anyone heard from Culberron recently?
STs currently maxed out at their tables —
(8) Will – A Bechan tea party in which long standing disagreements are resolved without resorting to any stabinating whatsoever.
(9) Mary – Krampusfest 2.0!
An empire reborn! With the great nations of the world falling into chaos due to civil wars, economic collapse, and foreign raiders, now ancient Sauren surge northward in a crusade to retake their former strongholds. Having enslaved many of the Aswahi tribes, they now turn their reptilian eyes to Sokelburg and the colonies of Illumin and Verrakis.
Still struggling to contain the remnants of the vampire plague driven west by Bechan forces, weary Atzotl and Mahutec warriors now prepare to defend their home from the Sauren aggressors. Meanwhile, Zambuti refugees flood the new colonies seeking aid and protection from the outsiders. Perhaps the arrival of von Leipzig and elements of the White Army will mark a turning point against the Saurens?

IC Blurb: Peccazi in flames! Runaway inflation throughout the Empire! World on brink of economic collapse!
Scrollbearers report widespread destruction throughout Peccazi. Buildings and public works burn, while riots consume the streets. Miners fight with townsfolk, as the Bankers Guild withdraws to the Mint to defend their precious coins. Unable or unwilling to contain the violence, many legionaries have taken to looting alongside the disgruntled miners. While the Senate stalls on further action, wary merchants trust only the Guilder. Now that Count Pomeroy and his Pacificans advisers have arrived on the scene, perhaps they can utilize the new magic tower to restore calm?
In all the confusion and turmoil only one thing is certain: If order is not restored soon only the dead will be left to mine the gold.

The Innes and Kerr push for independence from Stewart-ruled Culberron, and King Ardan’s Bechan and Illumin “puppet masters,” escalates into full civil war. This latest conflict provides the usual excuses for the settling of ancient blood-feuds but also new and unexpected bedfellows. The King has ordered Stewart troops, backed by their Burnett allies, to hold the country together, but his forces are spread thin defending the country from alarming amounts of Skjanos raiders. Amidst the blood and chaos who can say which way the Ramsay’s claw will rend?
Not far from these battlefields, the Order of Mercy has stepped outside of Bech to establish a new abbey, a haven of peace and healing, on lands provided by Odlin Ramsay. The Order’s reputation for neutrality is well known, and the clans have respected their position. The Skjanos are not so courteous.
The Order of Mercy’s unofficial protectors, the Grey Knights, call for assistance to defend the new abbey until proper fortifications can be established.

Bech is a land made up of nine Duchies, each ruled by an Iron Duke or Duchess. Four years ago, Duke Marcus Shale, on the eve of his retirement from travel and adventure, was brutally assassinated in front of his companions. His lands, the duchy of Kessel, have been without a Duke since that time. Now the time has come to choose a successor to the iron seat of Kessel.
Her Imperial Majesty Katerina van Sokol Undoubted Imperatrix of Unified Bech and Iron Duchess of Valachar has summoned her fellow Iron Dukes and Duchesses, as well as notable Lensherr of the duchies, to select such a leader. Such a gathering has attracted august personages from around the world, as well as the usual hangers-on and ne’er do wells.
Meanwhile, rumors swirl that the Pacificans will send a delegation to settle their recent conflict with Iron Duke Manfred von Durenwald and to make themselves available to all that have questions regarding the towers they have begun constructing in a number of locations.

The Waste has been long regarded as a worthless and dangerous land teeming with monsters. This belief is not wrong, as it is one of the most inhospitable and foreboding landscape one can encounter. It is a land devoid of life, except for creatures that hide in darkness and shadow, waiting to strike any traveler foolish enough to venture there. However, human ingenuity and perseverance in the face of adversity will not be denied. Through the combined effort of the East Ikhten Trading Company and the mad genius of a certain Verrakin Master artificer, Nunhut Khetuat, the grand Pan Waste Ihkteni Canal has been constructed through the narrowest part of The Waste.
A call for help has been sent forth from the Barachial’s Rest, the fortified oasis located at the exact mid-point of the canal, and the only hospitable place in the whole of The Waste. While skin blistering heat, flesh eating sandstorms, deformed monstrosities, and hot beer are to be expected, recently the desert denizens have displayed increased ferocity and organization in their attacks. The local Mamluk commander has offered up to a draught a day to any heroes or soldiers willing to defend the canal (with hazard pay guaranteed to orphaned children, widows, or widowers) while they work to expand the defenses.
Passage to Barachial’s rest is available on one of the many merchant vessels transporting supplies for the new fortifications.
Due to our original game site having a road closure and being unavailable, we are instead booking Malibu Creek State Park. The address has been updated to reflect this. This park’s main gate closes at 10pm, so if you are later than that, you will have to come in the morning. Unfortunately they charge for parking, but with late notice there is little we can do about this. Parking is $12 a day. Tell them you are going to the Group Site.
We are most likely to be able to book Malibu Creek but please do wait for confirmation on the DK FB page that we are 100% a go for the site. This page will be updated as we find out more.
Sorry about all the crazy guys, we are working very hard to make sure a game happens.
There have always been…incidents between and within the guilds of Verakis. Disagreements, political maneuvering, questionable business practices, but always it has been handled quietly, invisible to outsiders. But recently this underground struggle has spilled over into the public eye: The occupation of Mirror Bay, pushing the locals to near revolt; fighting in the streets the Illumin cities, risking Imperial intervention; and bringing the city to brink civil war. And worst of all, causing the guilder’s value to plummet on the international market.
Concerned over the impact this rift has had on their bottom line, the Council of Six has called a conclave to determine the issue of contested BBC leadership once and for all. Many hope for an amicable solution and a return to business as usual, but they have not ruled out more dramatic solutions, such as removing the BBC’s seat on the council. The Swordsmen’s Guild will impose a 24-hour truce to run the length of the conclave to ensure that deliberations are not interrupted by violence or foreign influence, allowing both factions of the BBC leadership to be present.
So of course all dealings will be above board……..
